Does anyone know the rating for the horn relay on an 02. 1150, I've just got a Stebel Nautilus from NN and wonder if I have to change all the bloody wiring to fit it ( Stebel have supplied a 30 amp relay and show a 20amp in line fuse in there drawing). Also anyone running a bike serviced at Vines, did you know they changed the oil they use for a service, at Xmass, from Semi Synth. to 20-50 mineral. ( I found out by chance just before I topped mine
up with SS)
Waiting for the usual abuse here.

They've been listening to me

The Nautilus sucks a lot of amps - I ended up using the 30 AMP relay and a feed from the battery to power it.

When I got a new bike, I bought the Magnum, which is a straight replacement, but it's a bit late for that now, I guess.

and others that pop up when you do a Search for Nautilus (no-one can spel Stteeebbbeeelll on this site).

Hi Bezzler,
I bought the Stebel Magnum - it's basically a straight swop for the standard unit - but boy, does it make more noise!!. Somebody said they had to uprate the horn fuse after fitting a Magnum? but so far mine's been fine. Having said that, I've got to say I don't really use the horn much at all, but at least now I know when it's required it will be heard??
Anyway, the Magnum works for me and because it's still electro-magnetic it's response is instant, whereas the nautilus is air-operated? - so I assume there must be some "lag"??

Cheers.....................Grizzly

OH Bllx
Guess I'll fit the Nautilaus on the Landcruiser for fogy days then. And Steptoe next time they listen to you, let the rest of us know please.
Thanks for the advice guys, off to NN's to buy a magnum (bloody silly name sounds like an ice cream, or a gun ,hhmmmm... gun there's a thought :mmmm would probably fit were the horn goes, M25 rush hour !!!!!!).

Nautilus

the Nautilus draws 19 amps, and the switch gear will not support it hence the 30 A relay, wire it via the relay.

Don't test it in a confined space.
