Hot left foot (=hot cat?)

Hi all,

I'm new to this GS lark (having just got a new 1150 Adventure). I've done about 750 miles now but yesterday found that whilst in town my left foot was getting seriously hot. I presume this is off the catalyst, but is this normal GS behaviour (along with ticking, whining, etc)? The oil temp on the digital display was rising, but not near the top.

If this is usual, do people have any problems with off road boots with the plastic melting (like Alpinstars have in the inside of the foot)?

If you're doing a lot of slow work in this hot weather, yep your feet are going to toast. As for Oil temp: 5 bars is normal, a bit of slow stuff in hot weather gets it up to 6 quite easily. i vaguely recollect that I once saw 7. More than that and I'd start to worry I think.
