Hotel in St Malo

Hi, any recommendations for a hotel in St Malo or reasonable close, as I need to catch the 10.30 boat back to Portsmouth, need to check at least 45 minutes before sailing,

I used the Ibis Plage which has a gated car park, at a cost. Mercure virtually next door shares the car park. Both owned by https://all.accor.com/a/en.html and if you register you should get a discount.

Inside the old city walls, Hôtel de la Cité Saint-Malo seems well liked by some here but not used it myself https://maps.app.goo.gl/tnr6KBLihtmNsh7b9

Both are about 10 minutes from the port.

Numerous tossers including me have stayed here within the walls - great comedy features, especially if you opt for the sea view rooms.

Stayed here many many moons ago, Not really a palace but was reasonable and fair priced, good food too.

We already stay in Dinard, at this Logis, because St Malo walled town means limited parking.

Proper quirky hotel, very old fashioned and shabby only now it’s called shabby chic.

There is an absolutely marvellous seafood restaurant literally underneath the hotel, La Gonelle. Only has a handful of tables but it’s right next to the jetty. Booking recommended.

Secure gated parking is a couple of minutes walk away, drop off bags and then park- pre book though.

Hotel de La Cite.
Stay here every year before early ferry home . One of few hotels with a garage . Bike is €10 parking .
Inside walls and right next to a great pub for first drink

Other nearby alternatives are La Mere Champlain in Cancale or Mercure Le Jerzual in Dinan.
If you like seafood , the former has an amazing restaurant overlooking the bay

Good choice.
I was there in June and will be there again in October.
First stop is always the Irish next door for a pint of Grimbergen.
