Good afternoon all, Does anyone have any Hotel recommendations in Serra de Estrela area of Portugal please?
Flying into Lisbon mid September and renting 4 bikes. Hoping to explore the Serra de Estrela area and ride the N222. We'll probably pick two Hotels for two 4 night stays. Not interested in big cities. Small Hotels with safe parking, good grub , bar and comfy rooms are the main priorities.

Just come back from 12 days in Portugal, for the estrela part we stayed 3 nights in the purana wool valley hotel and spa, which we found very good all round, we parked bikes out front, no underground parking here but we didn't worry.

We stayed there too in June last year (Puralã - Wool Valley Hotel & SPA). Nice hotel, good food and the pool/spa was nice after a day’s riding.

Parking was fine. Whilst we were there we were concerned when we saw some people looking quite closely at our bikes whilst we were eating. Turned out it was the local biker group who were putting on an event to raise money for local kids.

As we were checking out they did tell us we could have put the bikes in the secure garage. We’d not seen it on the way in as we were desperate to get in the pool after 200 miles in 39C!

We’d definitely return there in the future.

We have stayed here a few times it’s an old charm hotel with a great breakfast, there’s lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance.
Parking is outside but we’ve always found it safe, its also a great road down into Manteigas it also has a pool across the road.

Ah mantiegas couple of popular routes around there, there is a road closure with a diversion up/down a dirt road
