Hotmail Any Good?

I've got a tiscali email account that sometimes often won't let me in. It starts to open and then comes up with 'Error Search App' and that's it. I've googled it and it seems to be a known fault. It usually comes back a few hours later but as I'm job hunting I need a reliable connection, I'm certain I missed the manager's job at the Bowlyn Ground due to the lack of email communications.

My questions are I've opened a hotmail account, and get my tiscali mail through this portal, is it secure? And is it reliable?

I would avoid Hotmail - I've had trouble sending emails to hotmail users. The hotmail a/c I used to register for MSN gets loads of spam too. Haven't used since MSN became redundant due to Facebook.

I personally use gmail and have it configured to collect emails from legacy accounts - you could set it up to collect from your Tiscali account for example. You'd never have to visit the Tiscal webmail portal again.

+1 for Gmail. Lots of nice features and integrates will all major email programs and smartphones. Also encrypts email traffic, something that Hotmail didn't do last time I used it (albeit a long time ago now).

Been using hotmail since the internet began. It's as good as any. It's still my main email account so it can't be too bad.

I have a hotmail and gmail account.

I've never had any bother with either.

Been using Yahoo for my mail for many years now. Never had a problem and always free for the basic version.
