Picked up my new GSA today. Not the best day it was damp rather than wet and there’s lots of dirt and salt about. When I got home the wheels were caked in a thick dry crud. It’s the first bike I have had with spoked wheels for many years and I realise why now. Good these thinks are a nightmare to clean. I’ve done them 3 times now and there’s still stuff I’ve missed. How about a Alloy wheel option for those of use who’s only off roading will be a in a flat field to stick our tent up.

In the mean time any tips what to use to clean them

I clean mine with either SDOC100 or a ph neutral snow foam, used in my Karcher. The right products make light work of cleaning this bike.

I ran a set of standard but black painted gs alloys on my r1200gsa tc , easier to clean, lighter and good looking.

Would be tempted to get a s/hand set ot gs lc wheels for my gsa lc if they were cheap enough

Talk to me about this Hybrid x , is it as good as acf50 mate and protect your bike through shit weather

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that!:D

Since having the bike coated with hybridx, the wheels are a doddle to clean. The dirt just falls off.

But they weren't a doddle to clean before you had yours coated were they. The standard finish is a pig to clean

Nutty is it as good as acf50 , and protect through shitty weather

I've never used acf50, so can't compare.

But they weren't a doddle to clean before you had yours coated were they. The standard finish is a pig to clean

No, they really were a pain. This stuff makes light work of doing the wheels. On a chain drive bike it should be even better, as none of the chain flick should stick to anything.:beerjug:

But why the wheels? Wheels with spokes are real hard to paint and expensive. Did you have them painted gloss?

I haven't had the wheels painted. I had them coated in hybridx. Along with the rest of the bike.

Can I ask how much it cost. PM me if you don't want it out in the open.
