There are two methods to do this depending on whether you are connected to explore or not If you are not connected to explore (recommended) then make a track version of your route load this onto the XT go to tracks open the track.>hit the Spanner logo and select the show on map tickbox.

When you tick this the track is shown on the map until you go into tracks again and untick it.

Then open your route and you can see any differences between the track and the route. You can fix these by adding shaping points on the screen.

If you have explore enabled you need a Wi-Fi connection and you need to enable visibility of the collection that contains the route and the track which you have stored in explore. I don’t use this method after a little experimentation as you are stuck with whatever you have on screen until you have Wi-Fi to change it. Plus its not very intuitive.

By default the XT shows tracks and routes at the same width. You need to make a theme with a wider track width if you want to see it beneath the route. Older units did this by default, though with a narrow track line on top of the magenta route line.
