evening all,
Thinking of buying a new GS from the big, bad dealers and wondered if anyone can give me advice on getting the best deal? Probably going down the PCP route for funds.
Any tricks to use, knowledge of extras they can throw in etc, anything helpful greatly appreciated!
Thanks all:D

BMW will give you £1000 off if you use their PCP scheme. Note that you can pay it off completely within the cooling off period c 14days.

Big Bad Dealers?

FFS it's not a charity ... deal with them face to face and get your own 'best deal' ... With the attitude of 'Big Bad Dealers' you aint gonna get one :P

Any new vehicle will lose 20% as soon as it hits the road. £3000 in VAT on a £15K bike. Any used bike will have a £1000 margin which is why they only sell top class used bikes. The profits on the margin will be tight.

If you want cheap buy privately and take a risk on it being all ok. If you want peace of mind pay the costs of a dealer bike.

PCP isn't cheap especially when the balloon has to be paid off.

Hmm, clearly irony and sarcasm isnt appreciated much around here.

I know they are not "bad" or I wouldnt be going to them in the first place, I simply wondered if there are ways and means of getting the most for your money and any expreiences others have had.

Thanks for the advice anyways!:thumb

Yes they are very bad people, I made a telephone enquiry with a dealer regarding trade in for my immaculate 2011 gsa, less than two years old ,fsh and 7500 miles with brand new tyres against a new 1200gs. Apparently my twin cam adventure isn't a sought after model and with that miles is only worth £6000 trade in.
Funny they have two similar bikes for sale with double the miles and a year older for £11,000 in their showroom.

I will not be changing mine

I'm on my second personal lease with BMW. I know it's not necessarily the cheapest way of doing it in the long run but if you've not got the cash laying around its not a bad way of getting a new top spec bike. This time I went for the GSA and hey do a £1000 dealer contribution. There are still deals to be had but not massively. I rejected the first offers they gave me and told them they needed to be a bit keener, especially on the luggage as those alu panniers retail at £705 a set but most dealers are flogging new sets on eBay much lower than that and still making a nice profit. Just bear in mind unsurprisingly cheaper to take another lease at the end of the current one rather than keep it so sooner or later you have to bite the bullet and cough up.

I see you're in Wiltshire so not sure how far from Dorchester but I've always found CW Motorcycles to be very friendly and accommodating. :)

I bet that was a slap in the knackers:rolleyes:

I'm sure somebody will be along to explain the small print but perhaps don't confuse PCP with "ownership"

Think at the moment they are offering free panniers if you buy a new adventure, don't know how long it will be valid for though :thumb

Yeah PCP was what I was looking at. Popped in this afternoon.
Been offered a 90th anniversary 1200GSA for the price of a standard GSA, with the £1000 dealer contribution, and a good trade in price for my 1150.
Do the limited editions hold a bit more value?

Those who have bought them say yes, however when trying to sell them some time later, they don't seem to shift any quicker than the more standard models.
It seems to be a buyers market for used bikes and there always seem to be plenty of high specification, low mileage, clean bikes available. Only buy it if you want it and the deal is right for you.

The Triple Black always seems popular but will anyone be interest in a 90th Anniversary in 3 years time?
