At present I have the route in MRA then transfer directly to the CRN

If I split a route into multiple sections and transfer to the App on my phone
How do I then get them onto the CRN

======

I have started you a fresh thread.

One other question -

The same way you would a single route I would think? I don't do that but if they are separate entries on MRA, they will be on the CRN. I have read about some people dividing a day up on one entry but have no idea how to do that and personally, can see no advantage? Perhaps somemone who does this could assist?

I have exported a few routes via a cable from my laptop to the CRN but mainly to see if there was any difference. There isn't. I know some people do this because of terrible problems with the CR App.

Thanks. - I do that but

If a route has been transferred via email to the phone and then imported to the app , can you - say out in the field transfer this easily to the CRN

Just thinking of options

I've never had need to do it but if I did I'd use my phone as a wi-fi hotspot for the CRN. Failing that, I'd import it into MRA instead and run the route on my phone using the MRA navigation app.

Doesn’t Connected Ride have the ability to hold lots of routes, of which you summon up the one you want to use?

I thought so.

It does but the whole setup is so basic

I a not understand why a satnav should be so difficult

the basic function / ease of use should be

Load route
start route
Stop route
Restart route and continue from line above

At least a Garmin did this

Having to split a route into sections of where you anticipate to stop

I have sorted a way of storing routes on a USB stick and then loading via the phone

I guess because it is not a ‘Sat Nav’ as such, but rather it’s a device relying on an app, running on a phone. It then mirroring the phone, with some degree of control from the bike’s wonder wheel thing…. Or not.

i was referring to the actual Connect ride navigator which is standalone as you download the routes to the unit.

The unit does not have all the functions of the App software that you run on the ‘phone.

There seems to be one aspect missing (unless i am missing it), in that when you start the route on the navigator it does not ask if you wish to start from the start point - it assumes you want to start from where you are actually located then adds this on to the route.

The App asks this question

OK, I see now. Thank you.

Assuming it’s not there, as you say, it seems like a simple thing for BMW to fix and a good option to have.

Yes it should be a simple thing to add and at least make the ‘phone App and the navigator consistent with each other
