Its getting pretty mingy now, so I reckon its time for its first wash.

Im sure I read that it goes in the washing machine, which seems a bit odd for a leather jacket, can anyone confirm this?

If so, what detergent?

Bio? Non-bio?

Do I add fabric conditioner? (I wouldnt have thought so)

Drip dry?

So many questions, so little time.

You can buy some BMW jollop for the job but I just use the same stuff I use for all my machine-washing, a non-bio sachet type.

Just take out the armour, stick it the machine on a 30 deg wash, let it drip dry.

One word of warning .I used the BMW supplied detergent ( about £14 ) and followed the instructions .After wash you are supposed to spray the jacket with the solution supplied in the kit .After spraying I was left with white specs ( they will not brush off ) .I had to rewash the jacket to get the white spots out , after the wash the leather lost some color and suppleness.
In the old kit that I had a few years ago the after wash spray was clear and had a oily feel .BMW must of change the formula .

Washing kit...

Best stuff out there is the NIKWAX wash in stuff available from all good outdoors shops.

Use the Tech Wash to wash the kit, leave in machine, and then the Tech Proof (?) machine washable proofer. Used it on all my kit over the years RUKKA, BMW HG etc etc. Does what it says on the tin

The Atlantis kit is some sort of nubuck leather, do you think the nikwax product is ok for them?
