Hi was wondering how you guys lock your helmet to your bike/tank bag.
i was thinking of just getting some plastic coated wire with a lock.

wondering what everyone else does.

Cheers matt

haha its ok.

no i have seen a few things mainly the plastic coated cable i was more curious i normally wouldnt do it but as will be walking round sometimes rather than carrying it around everywhere. if i can leave it on the bike safely.

I use a top box, or a pac safe or a helmet lock. There was a thread on here recently with a discount for the combination helmet lock.

Sorry I was thinking of the Roadlok group purchase.

Got a bent bit of metal under the seat on the gs for just this.

When I read these type of questions or the stories about how careful you guys in the old motherland have to be parking your bikes and being stolen make me realise how lucky we are here in the new world that I just park my bike place my helmet over the clocks and h/bar cross bar and jacket hanging from the screen and off I go with out a worry in my world.
I wish you had the same privilege.

Other ways the helmet lock on the side of the bike or a keyless bicycle lock.

Similar to this less than £5 from my local engineering factors

Matt,

I try to keep things simple, as if they are simple you'll probably use them.

I bought myself a very simple Abus retractable cable lock:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/...gclid=CJvctdC-6swCFeEp0wodWfAG7g&gclsrc=aw.ds

Why?

1. It has a 90cm cable, long enough to lock two helmets to a bike easily. If it's easy to use, you'll use it. If it isn't, you won't. Trust me.

2. It has a combination lock, so there is no extra key to fiddle about with and / or lose.

3. The cable is long enough to feed down the arm of a jacket and / or trousers, so you can tie these to your bike as well.

4. It takes up no space.

PS Someone is bound to pipe-up that any scrote could cut the cable with some pliers. Yes, maybe so. This bod will very probably suck his teeth but then walk off, quite happily leaving his £400 Arai, dangling on his wing mirror or sitting on the seat, whilst he kicks back with likeminded souls in the cafe.

Maybe in Tassie, do that in South Australia and you are taking the bus home

I use a very thick plastic covered Abus cable and lock, and if it's raining a old rucksack waterproof cover. I go with the attitude that if some cnut turns up with tools to go through that they'll also be able to get into any luggage in seconds anyway.
