Need to replace head bearings, so need to get yoke off bike completely to press bearing out.

Ignition switch in the yoke seems to be fastened via 2 strange "bolts" that dont have heads.

Or do I leave this well alone and chase the wires down and disconnect there?

Any tips welcomed.

Most ignition barrels are held on with shear bolts, so the head of the bolt shears off when you tighten it. It's a case of drilling the head off and then removing the thread. I've never done the job on an 1150 before so don't know sorry but I'd be looking at the wiring option before getting the drill out.

Look down the right side of the casing that holds the ignition lock barrel in place. You should see a small splodge of red? Paint. Pick the paint away and you should see a tiny grub screw inside. Unscrew that without loosing it. This will allow you to remove the ignition wiring. It's all together in a small circular block.

Sure someone will correct if I'm wrong. The bolts are security bolts that hold the casting to the yoke.

Cheers guys, will go it a go in the morning....

To remove the security bolts just drill a 4mm hole a few mm deep into the head then hit a torq bit into the hole and undo like a normal bolt.

Ooh, I was going to say that but you beat me to it.

Some clever sod gave me the same advice when I needed to do mine, can't think who that may have been :D
