I currently have an Autocom Pro M1 fitted to my Aprilia and have been using this as a bike 2 bike setup. I will fit this to the GS in march and install the second pillion headset etc...
What I want to know is:

Can my pillion hear all of conversation between the other bikes in the group the same as me?

If I speak to my pillion will this be trasmitted via the TRX to the other bikes in the group?

If the phone is connected can both the pillion and myself take part in the conversation?

If I connect music or GPS will the audio be available to just the rider or to the pillion as well ?

Too many questions

Cheers

*Yes

Both

* These answers presume your radio is wired directly to the the ProM1 unit and not via a PTT switch. If you opt for the PTT switxh and set it to PTT only when you press the PTT button will what you say be transmitted out from your bike.

Basically if you are using a combination of phone/pillion/music alongside Bike2Bike you should seriously consider the PTT switch or risk always transmitting and never being able to receive anything.

I knew that somebody on here would know :)

Looks as if I need to order the PTT switch. Another quick question Is it possible to separate the audio for the music so that only the pillion can hear, as I find this very distracting when riding, also if I connect a GPS the pillion will get fairly bored listening to 'next left, next right' so would prefer to route the audio just to the rider?

From your BMW Dealer:

Order1 X GS

From your Autocom Dealer:

Order 1 X ProM1
1 X Bike2Bike Radio
2 X PTT Switch (1 for each bike)

And then each of you and Mrs Cecilthecat (or other) can select that which they want to hear and none else.

Alternatively
Understand that rider/pillion is a true shared experience and work on a compromise where you'll both be happy - mine's called a single seat bike and a car :D

I think that the ProM1 has been superseded by the Pro-7-Sport (even though it's not yet on Autocom's website)

Currently both still available and it was more of a tongue-in-cheek response but if Cecil did go down that route the kit would be cross-compatible if he had two the same. Not yet convinced of the benefit of the new 'un except cost but thanks anyway Greg.

Unfortunatly I've just sold the other halfs bike after she felt a bit scared of getting back on due to a couple of skirmishes into the bushes. This is the reason that the Mille is being sold and replaced with a new GS in March so that she canget on the back.

I already have the Autocom setup on the Mille and will remove this and fit it to the GS.
Due to the mille having no pillion perch I have never used the intercom with a pillion, only bike to bike with mates.
I've ordered the extra leads etc... to connect up the pillion headset, and they are being supplied by Woolaston with the bike when they install it all in Feb.
I think now all I need is to get the PTT switch so that my mates don't hear everything that me and my pillion are on about.

Back to my earlier question is it possible to separate the audio so that the music only can be heard by the pillion or that GPS can only be heard by me ?

Cheers

I seem to have lost you in the woods with my last reply - I'll try again: to my eternal knowledge NO. Orat least not without some serious re-wiring inside the Prom-M1 control box - but I don' want to lead you down a dead end again so - NO it is ;)
