I spent a few days up there last month, based at Newbiggin.

I have memories of firing an SLR on Ponteland ranges some 45 years ago. Freezing cold and wet even in summer!

No, no it’s a terrible place.
Stayed in Lucker for a week earlier this year. I was a bit underwhelmed to be honest. Alnmouth was quite nice, Amble was quite awful. Did several walks inland and on the coast, none of which outshone anything I can find on my doorstep. Got to try these places though
Johnny, as said before....the borders is a fantastic place, hidden gem. One of my favourite areas to ride, including Europe!
We go at least twice a year. Beautiful area, not much traffic, not many people, not many buildings. Love it there. Great scenery and some fantastic beaches.
