Ting-Tong (Don’t leave me) Tom, no doubt fondly remembered by longer established members of this forum and also known as ‘Indecisive’, rode Budapest to Folkestone and then on to Luton.

That’s thrown the gauntlet down….

That's an impressive ride.

8.5 miles in it. :)

Poor bastard, Folkestone….

I guess Ting-Tong didn’t get too much of choice as to where the Chunnel terminates or an opportunity to hop off early? That said, the Chunnel’s exit is well beyond the town, so unless he got very lost (a distinct possibility) he would have avoided it. On the other hand, he was trundling to Luton….

It’s only shorter by a very few kilometres.
It was with a pal from Rotherham T’other lad had had an accident and broken a couple of ribs. A local hospital patched him up while Dave and me patched the ‘bike up. The lad just wanted to get home :blast

About 1100 miles from Indianapolis IN to Breckenridge CO in September 2011. Most of it was across I-70 in ambient temps of c. 42 deg C.
I spent a lot of time standing up on the pegs, leaning into the wind at 85 mph in an attempt to stay cool and ease the pain in my arse.

The judges cannot take circumstances into account, I’m afraid. That said, you’ll receive a special commendation for patching the bike up :D

We got off the ferry at 9 am at Zeebrugge more or less followed that route over to Vienna simply because i wanted to see it; then headed north towards Brno met up with the others who came down the day before and onto the campsite where we were staying about 20mls south of the circuit; we got there before midnight; 878mls .

That, give or take ties in with Google’s estimate of Budapest to Luton and just marginally ahead of Micky’s journey.

The judges will look favourably upon you standing up on the pegs, though they might (if so inclined) enquire as to why your arse was so sore….. :D:beerjug:

John o'groats to Lands end , thought i'd go back to a friend in Trowbridge , but actually came back to Sm1
left J o'g at 0600 . L end at 2145 , got home at 0400.
you can do the maths , Motorway for the long bits.

Have you tried sitting on an OEM Pan seat for 1000 miles in 24 hours...? Even the loaf of bread cycling underpants I was wearing did little to ease things.

Air hawk sorted our arses; and no; not sore; i was almost tempted to go back into Austria and back to the camp site to get an iron butt 1000 in; but some nice cold beers with the others won the day; :ROFLMAO:
On one stretch i got just under 80mls to reseve ; 19ltrs on the mighty ZZR 11; and it was only the once; :D

SM1 is Sutton….

Leave it with me, not least as I have to do everything around here :D:beerjug:

I Recall Tom (Indecisive) never being ready to leave when everyone else was ready to go…but at the end of the day always seemed to arrive at the next hotel first 🤓

Meanwhile … not on a bike.. but did Frejus to Leicester in a Mazda 626 in 18 hours… with 3 kids in The back all coming down with Chicken Pox..that’s got to be worth an extra 500km

Also got to St. Tropez and back in one piece in an MG Metro ..with the same 3 kids in the back…. 😜
