How far did you ride in under 24 hours?

Landeck in Austria to Consett, including Calais/Dover ferry.
1152 miles in 23.5 hours. Followed by 7 days recovery.
Best hint, dont do it on an FZ1s !

Oooooh, another strong contender. Not quite enough to knock our current leader off his lofty perch and bringing him crashing down.

Santander (I missed the ferry) to Caan ferry, only stopping for fuel and mars bars, was riding a K100RS, a few years ago mind you, when there were no speed camera’s about.

Also did a ride from the Peloponnese to home, in one hit, due to having a bad tooth infection ( had already visited a Greek dentist), but there was 2 ferries involved (to Italy & Dover Calais) and I had 2 troubled sleeps in motorway service areas en route (sleeping bag on the ground) was riding a Honda VFR1200X so it was hardly non-stop, was 3 day journey.

I seem to remember Steptoe doing some huge mileages, often in very inclement weather on the Morocco Dashes. There's an iconic photo here somewhere of him riding an 1150GSA in very icy conditions south of Bordeaux. Pretty hardcore shit no matter the distance involved.

810 miles from Vigo in Kent to Passau via Heilbronn in 1999 on a K100RS, first time ever abroad on a bike. The chum I was going with had his bike (an HPN) breakdown when we were about to leave at 4am. Off to Dover ferry for Calais, met his German chums in Heilbronn about 4pm for what I thought was the end of my day's travels, only to find out they wanted to ride to Passau to meet another German chum ... and it pissed down most of the way

Bourg st Maurice to Telford non stop except for fuel was 900 miles on a triumph triple 955 - my hands were numb for days after and I couldn’t write with a pen at work !

My longest is Denver to Downey in LA at over a 1000 miles only stopping for gas and speed 🙄 on a Z1000 in 1996.
Soul and arse destroying, bit like picking up the soap in the showers at Pentonville.

The competition is now closed.

The overall winner is PitaNaanRoti, with his Gosport to Grello in one hit, for 1,386 miles in 24hrs dead. Alongside this, a very honourable mention to Ting-Tong (Don’t leave me) ‘Indecisive’ Tom, for his Budapest to Luton and to all the others who broke the thousand mile barrier in one hit in under 24 hours.

But in truth is, no matter whether the journey was over a thousand miles or just 25 out for a blast or bimble, whether it was in the freezing depths of an Alpine winter, the searing heat of an American desert or a pleasant spring day in the Cotswolds, you are all winners.

I had extra heavy duty tubes with sealant in so I was worried about overheating, I also found that on the motorways there was a thrumming that came at 75mph so I stayed just below that the whole way.

On the way home as I passed through the Chunnel I refuel using a 10L can I had carried all the way strapped to the back. The thrumming disappeared, if I’d known that earlier that I could have cracked on a bit harder :D
