The 1100 can be fecking scary on the sidestand when laden.
As you`ve dicovered, the back wheel can lift and the bike almost goes arse over tit.........in fact,I reckon it will if parked incorrectly and unattended.
So that`s the clue......if using the sidestand when fully loaded, make sure it`s parked so that doesn`t happen.
Looking at your picture, you`re asking for trouble anyway.....it`s a bad idea to park parallel to the kerb or to be 'nose in'......park rear wheel to the kerb on any bike to lessen the chance of rolling off the stand.....or,again with reference to your picture, try parking with the bike facing the other way when loaded...
I always use my centre stand wherever possible, anyway.
One thing to check, however,is any wear on the sidestand pivot, and see if the big Allen screw holding part of the stand bracket on isn`t loose.
