I have an iRiver H140 which although old and about the size of a packet of cigarretes, still works well and has a remote control which when touring clips on my tank bag allowing me to pause it at traffic lights if my friends want to talk to me. My son has an iPod touch which is a great bit of kit and handy to connect to wifi as well as supporting bluetooth. I'm tempted to upgrade but not sure I can justify it.

Any thoughts?

Personally I'd just get an iPhone with a 32GB memory rather than a iPod Touch as you get a lot more bang for your buck with the iPhone and it can do everything the Touch can and a hell of a lot more

not sure how easy it would be to control an ipod touch when on the bike. the touch screen will not work though 99.9% of gloves, so you'd need a remote. surprisingly few choices for remotes too.

why not borrow your son's for a while to see how you get on.

How much is one of them?

I used one, although now wiring a Zumo in to provide GPS and music, and found it great ... with the exception of being difficult to control.

I found it best on long rides when I cound simply set it for random choice and didn't need to control it.

iPod touch

I have an 2nd Gen 8Gb version for sale as I now have a 32Gbversion.
It has WiFi so you can look on t'internet if you have a router at home (or can leech onto someone elses :D) and its small and light.

Yours for £60 posted so you don't have to spend a fortune to see if its what you want. No monthly fees, no sim cards.
Condition is what you'd expect after a few thousand miles in my pockets on the bike with 1500 songs on Random.
