I've installed my sat nav cradle to one socket, but would like another to install a USB socket to have my camera powered by a switched supply.

Question: how many sockets are there ?

Far as I know there's only one "accessory" power socket. There's a dedicated connector intended for the BMW Navigator GPS which you could use for any device (the correct plug is available from BMW) - it is ignition controlled, although it remains "live" for a short time after switching off.

Thank you. I can see what looks like a socket but it appears to have blanking plug ? Is that correct ?

The one under the oil cooler is a rounded rectangle in shape and has 5 small rectangle shaped connectors. Mine is tightly secured to the middle of subframe, only accessible from underneath and did not have a cover or a blanking plug in. The one underneath is a DIN socket the seat has a spring loaded cover.

I added another DIN plug mounted on the screen subframe connected to an Eastern Beaver 3 position switched fusebox (ready wired kit) that I also run two heated jackets from. In addition I have a two pin Tamiya connector direct to the battery for charging and to attach unstitched accessories like a phone charger so I can charge phones etc when camping without the engine running.
