Just clocked 10,000 mls and still plenty of wear left. Ride hard to keep up with mates on sports bikes and tour parts of Europe two up and fully loaded at least once a year. A friend has told me about the 'Ride' report, yet the Tourance tyres have never created a problem. Will probably stick with these when the time to change arrives.

New Tourances

I read somewhere very recently that a new verson is due out VERY shortly - so don't buy the current model!

That's perhaps the Tourance EXP. I think this is in addition to the 'normal' Tourance and will have less offroad / trail ability. Here's some spraff anyway...

Experience, expertise, explorer
Big enduro bikes embrace the very essence of adventure, of a journey born mile by mile out of unknown routes and beautiful landscapes.
The latest generation of these bikes derives directly from the most competitive machines that each year tackle the world's most gruelling rallies. In order to better respond to bikers' changing demands they have evolved with new technical features providing stability at low and high speeds, comfort and the possibility of carrying luggage.
"Innovation within tradition": Metzeler's strategy in this segment derives from the combination of its on- and off-road experience and its continuous technological innovation. On the basis of these values, Metzeler engineers and technicians have developed Tourance, the segment's reference product.
In consideration of the street-oriented evolution of the latest big enduro bikes, a new custom-tailored product has been created: TOURANCE EXP.
The name of this tyre is taken from the concept underlying its development. The outstanding level of performance of the TOURANCE is reflected in the suffix, three letters representing the new soul of this product. It is not only a matter of technology. It is a matter of technology applied to the best tyre on the market in order to give the end user exactly what he needs, keeping in mind three points which can be summarized with "EXP" as:
EXPERIENCE : The sunset of North Cape, the deserts between Paris and Beijing or simply a beautiful country landscape just outside the city. A constant search for the ultimate experience.
EXPERTISE : experience with technology, innovation, continuously improving performance. Metzeler as a technical partner for the development of innovative features.
EXPLORER : A globetrotter, wandering the world with no borders or boundaries, enjoying the trip.

I must buy a pair - I am sure then that they will they get me down the hill to the bar each morning!

But will they get you back up the hill in the evening?

"Big enduro bikes embrace the very essence of adventure, of a journey born mile by mile out of unknown routes and beautiful landscapes. "
Well it sounds hopeful!

I must be a scot then.

In all fairness to the limp-wristed Suvverners, I think that Sir will find that our fine Scottish Tarmacadam is much more abrasive than the stuff which passes for a road surface on Albion's flat and featureless plain. That coupled with far more pleasant levels of traffic density and our humungous testicles, enable us to exploit our rubber in a much more satisfactory manner.

:)

and yes i've got HUMUNGOUS TESTICULARS as they are now made fron the finest Sheffield surgical steel:eek:
there is some milage (sic) in the type of tarmac you have in your area though.
round this way its very course and as the roads are quite twisty i recon youd be hard pushed to get 14k out of a set of anything, christ my trucks done a set of tyres in 21k:eek:
I'm happy with the mileage i'm getting out of metz's after all my old TLS suzuki would kill a set of tyres in 800miles:eek and my zxr12 only managed 1800per set, so this gsing seems to me to be a bit cheaper in the rubber department :clap
