I'm trying to guess the mileage of my old gnarler and one of the things I've replaced was the clutch at 50K (seemed a bit low unless a previous owner used it a lot).

Any way I thought I'd ask a general question how many miles will these go normally?

Oh and before anyone asks yes it was worn, the friction material looked like it had been painted on it was that thin!

:ronno I vos bonkers to leave zer bunkers

I've done 105,000 kms on my original clutch - so far so good. It tends to get a bit hot and smelly off roadiing sometimes but no signs of slipping....yet.

depends on wether your touring, offroad, etc, down to riding style and gear changes, uggs did 82,ooo but was touring a lot

Clutch life - how long is a piece of string. Too many variables to consider.

Changed my loan bike clutch at 18K miles. Used mainly in london.

Changed plenty of other clutches around the 30k mark.

I was wondering what I could expect as well and I thought 50K a bit low since its a pretty hefty clutch.

Mind you I think the 1st owner used it around London a lot and in the words of one of his friends 'hes a bit of an animal' which means 50K is probably spot on.
