How many miles on your "12"?

13K on Mar 05 bike. So far - rear subframe (poor welding); Battery ( might have been due to the bike being laid up for 4 months whilst I was in and out of hospital last year, but still replaced under guarantee); New Gearbox front seal and clutch due to oil leak.

Cracking bike - brings a silly grin to my face even when it is pissing down and 5 deg C!!!

Sept 04 (54-pkate), 23700 miles. New engine at 22500 miles (3 weeks before warranty expired!). New engine developed an oil leak almost immediately, but all fixed now. Depsite hte problems I've had, I love my GS and wouldn't swap it for anything! :)

Got my 1200 GS last weekend of June, 3800 miles so far and (fingers crossed) no problems so far apart from crappy headlight (must get round to fitting the hi output bulbs I pinched out of the wife's car before it was sold) :D

May 2005, 14,000 miles, front engine cover due to corrosion.

One episode of flat battery (prior to software update).

Love it to pieces.

01/09/06 - 4.5K miles so far.

Only one flat battery (left unused for a whole week, poor thing)
One loose handgaurd.

Ok I'm impressed.

Maybe I will lighten up. After my First Big Ride for our Tasmanian Chriswtmas Toy Run with MRA Motorcycle Riders Assoc. Tas. Yeah then I will be Happy. BIGJim.

July 05 bike with 10500miles.

Water ingress on the gear selection indicator doofer and fuel pump relay. Both fixed under warranty. Other than that no probs.

July 04 GS 20K miles. 3 sets of front discs, 1 front wheel, 1 set of forks, 2 front engines covers. Loved every minute of ownership and just ordered another one.
Only complaint, its the worst muck spreader I have ever ridden in spite of huggers and number plate extenders etc.

4 week old 1200GSA 1700 miles(they were in the first 2 week's), only problem I have got is a real stupid big grin when I ride it. :D :D

12 GSA, picked up 1730, 20th June 2006, 6895 as of last night, only prob been 1 blown headlight bulb (Halfords extra bright thingy)

so Far so good, still on first tyres (annakees) and pads, has done 4 trips to Germany and cruises nicely on the Ton, roughly 280-300 miles per tank at that speed tho. :(

I love it and have become quite the preacher on its virtues to all my sports bike riding mates, most of whom have now laid up their bikes

Scotty........ya my mates too all laid up for the winter now :nenau

My GS is a 04 plate with 16,700 miles on it now, just seems to get better the more miles etc even better then my 1150 GS in that respect. Only probs? usual posted on here gearbox seal etc.

Have to confess been taking a look at the 1200RT but that bloody 1200 GS ADV keeps smiling at me every time I go into a dealer :clap

Total of 7yrs GS riding, ride my mates sports bikes but still love to get back on the GS!

My penny's worth......

April 2004, just had the 40,000km (25,000 mile) service done. Only minor niggles such as 3 blown headlight bulbs, squealing front brakes, rust on handlebar bolts, 4 sets of tyres.

Mine was new in March '06, now at 13,975 miles, feesl like it is just about run in now.

Only fault so far is the fuel pump; the cover slots are now filled with silicon to prevent it becoming submerged again.

Headlights upgraded to HID in October. :thumb
