Hi all,

Quick question?

Mate of mine is going into Europe for a few weeks, so far we have done 14 route ie 1 per day, when they are sent from his PC to his Zumo 550 we can only see 9 routes downloaded?....he has no songs on it re space etc.

So, how many routes will it hold? is it because you have to clear the data folder? if so, will the routes still be in his "routes" on the main screen?

Hope it all makes sense! :blast

Ta for any help

PS
The routes are about between 180 and 300 miles per day.

I'm not sure how many routes can be loaded into the zumo route memory at any one time - think it is 50 - but the simplest way to have lots of routes (as many as you like) available to be imported is to:

1. create routes in Mapsource or whatever. Multiple routes can exist in one file.
2. save the file in Mapsource in .gpx format ('Save as Type' option when you click the save icon)
3. copy the .gpx files to the SD card of the Zumo into the folder \Garmin\GPX. If it doesn't exist, just create it. You can save multiple files in this folder - I don't think there is a limit. You can do this when the Zumo is connected via usb, or just put the card into the card reader of your PC.
4. To import routes from the card go to spanner, user data, import routes. The first time the card is inserted the Zumo recognises that there is new data and asks if you want to import. Each route within a file appears in a list, and you simply check the ones to import.

I always put my routes on the SD card, rather than straight to the Zumo. It means they can be re-imported if necessary at any time, and you can hold a library of routes on the card ready for use.

HTH

PS not sure why you only see 9 routes. It might be linked to the number of via points used when the routes were created - I think the Zumo will hold 500 total for all loaded routes. Try the SD card method, import the 14 routes and if they don't all appear, delete the first group that do import, then try to import the remainder. I always use the route preview screen to check that individual routes have imported as expected.

Nice tip, thanks fella :thumb2

Hi Tomcat, me again! (or anybody else!) :blast

When I follow your instructions and save my files in .GPX format it saves the routes in Adobe Reader!!!

I have 2010 mapping for what its worth:type

Any other pointers please?

Sounds as though there is an incorrect association between the .gpx file format and Adobe. Its easy to fix - open Windows Explorer, drill down to the .gpx file. R-click and select 'open with'. With a bit of luck it will show 'Mapsource Application', but if not go to 'choose program' and select Mapsource. Check the box which says 'always use this program to open this type of file'.

HTH :)

Tomcat thanks a lot mate!! I was struggling to make my Zumo to see the routes that I had passed at the card. I didn't create the folder \Garmin\GPX :blast
thanks...I will try this, this night but I believe that everything will go well....
