How much "better" is the DRZ

Quite possible (even probable) - don't know why he doesn't just stick up a classified ad and have done with it.

This kind of thing is exactly why I was trying to source one on here - you know what you're getting and what you're expected to pay for it ;)

I had a little look through his history last time it was listed, and there's quite a few bits on that bike that he's only just bought (like the fork gaiters) - might be ebay paranoia, but it made me wonder if it was covering up a load of pitting or a leaky seal.

I hate it when you travel a fair distance to look at an "excellent" bike, only to find it's an over-priced dog - waste of everyone's time :mad:
 
I was interested in that DR350 before I bought my DRZ400. It came up on a Google search from the previous Ebay listing so I emailed him before it was relisted to see if he fancied selling it. He wasn't interested - said it was going back on Ebay as he'd had so many enquiries. The £1600.50 bid came in quite early and never shifted. If it's in good shape it's probably worth that to someone who really wants a DR350 - they're still popular overland bikes.

As it happens I was pointed toward a WR250R for sale within the TRF that seemed too good to refuse.

Not what I set out to look for, and a fair bit more than I wanted to spend, but hopefully I won't regret snapping it up.

So, I'll be slinking off from this part of the forum before I get kicked out for buying the "wrong" bike :pullface
 
I'm away ahead with a BLACK 2000 model:D

Not many changes in 12 years,can't have been bad to begin with.
 
One thing that many dont realise with the 2 bikes being compared is Suzuki really missed a trick giving the DRZ only 5 speed box. If they had given it 6 it may have beaten a DR350 hands down.
Gear a DR350 for road and off road, and lets face it most who ride these bikes, can one day be off roading ,and the next riding 30 miles ...and plenty more... bimbling along A roads not bothering with dirt........ and the DR350 will do it all
Gear a DRZ for a decent day off road and they suck on the road and vice versa
DRs are becoming more collectable by the day...decent ones that is...... and even at £1600 are a great buy if its in great nick.... have you seen the asking price of many XR400s lately... compared to what I sold my XR for a few years ago if I still had it I could make another £500 on it

I agree..................early DR350's and XR250/400 are most certainly on the way up

Most 'trail' riders are fed up with highly strung Jap and Austrian 'enduro' bikes, just for trailriding
 
I'm loving my DRZ, which is getting better with every tweak - and so am I, I think?

Old School XR 400 Fantastic bullet proof bike .Find a good one , it will go anywhere. I have the use of one in Cambodia and it does everything and goes anywhere .Fab Bike:thumb2

Not quite true!
They re-released the DRZ in 2009, and kept importing them until the beginning of 2011.
They just weren't selling enough of them in the UK so decided to stop the import.
Very sad as they are brilliant bikes and tough as nuts.
I can very much vouch for the 400 E.
