Vodafone have 1GB limit on Internet with the iPhone . I get about 80 emails a day , would like to listen to Last FM on the phone , some surfing on the net ( UKGSER , BBC News , MILFs Alone:D etc ) maybe life TV.
Cheapest plan:
24 months contract, £75 for the iPhone, 600 min anytime , 250 text , Wifi, 1G Mobile Internet a month.
Cheaper than O2 , but they don't give the cost, if you go over the 1 G limit .:nenau

If that's all you're using it for and you're not planning to download files (music or movie) regularly you'll never get near that 1GB.
Youtube is probably the biggest hogger of yer kb, but you'd want to be watching a fair bit of it.

The emails use a tiny amount
Browsing uses a fairly small amount
Youtube uses a small(ish bit) but can add up if used a lot.

The cheeky people mine is unlimited.. none iPhone and tethering allowed

Also at the risk of upsetting you - can you get a better deal if you don't have to have an iPhone....

As all web sites seem to assume we have limitless broadband 1Gb a month is not a lot. I had a dongle with 3 Gb a month and was always running out just emailing and surfing.

I have now dumped the dongle and use a Blackberry on Vodafone which gives me 500 mins, unlimited email, Blackberry push email and UNLIMITED web and email and the phone for free. Cost £30 per month.

The Blackberry PC software makes it easy to set up yur PC to use the Blackberry as a 3G modem so you are not limited to mobile web on the phone screen. When I am at work I often use my laptop to browse, download, order stuff, etc. as the work system blocks a lot of sites.

You need to be careful with this one depending on contract. Most contracts don't allow you to tether which is connecting your phone to a laptop and using it as a modem. If you get caught you will find your self with either a large bill or no service. Also as with all mobile companies you need to clarify what exactly they mean by unlimited. Its a pet hate of mine this and I wish the law was changed because on Orange they seem to think unlimited is 500MB where T Mobile its 3GB. The only truly unlimited contract I know of is O2 with an Iphone contract. Its a crock, unlimited should be just that otherwise in any language its limited.

No problem

It wasn't aimed at you in particular just a general warning that its the norm that your not allowed to do what your doing. There are contracts out there that let you but not many and they usually cost a fair bit a month or the phone is expensive.
