How much was your 6000 miles service

on my service report, it mentioned that my rear pad was 50% worn, this was at 5500 miles, so I guess I'd expect about 10K out of it. Then again, I do ride like a beyatch and don't often use the rear brake on its own. Think it probably depends on your riding style. I tend not to use it as it doesn't have much 'feel'.

I'd guess they changed the rocker cover gaskets when they check the valve clearances. My dealer says they check them every service as they are easy to get at!!

Only had mine a few months so don't know how long a set of rear pads should last but 4K seems a bit low to me :nenau. I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to give us the sp :clap

My only did 4k as well. Replacements £20 from Steptoe and 10 mins of my time, don't need BM for jobs like that.:thumb

What are we doing wrong?? Diddn't think I was that hard a braker. I will do it myself next time then, which will be right after my Europe trip later this month at this rate!

Opportunity knocks

I had a call from a certain London dealship  to ask if my 6k service was OK? Which it was. But £304 is a bit steep IMHO. So I pointed the nice lady in the direction of this thread and suggested she get her bosses to think about it.

Also wondered if someone at the dealership might like to register so we might hear a little bit from their side and engage in rational debate :spitfire:mcgun:mcgun:handbag:handbag:D

I do hope they take the risk. If they do, you will be nice to whoever it is, wont you:D

Regards,

Path.
