On my way to work yesterday. Hit what looks to be part of a lorry brake drum.Went straight through the bottom of the motor.:(
Gutted I really like this bike.

How unlucky/lucky was that. Glad your OK, motor can be fixed.

Ah well If it was a brake drum you should find the culprit nearby and the lorry not far away

I have come across a couple of Lorry brake pads on the road pretty much a serious reason to stay with Drums

They may go over the cam but at least you know about it!!!!

Glad you were able to keep it all under control. Here's another way I discovered to achieve the same outcome last weekend:

Did you tell the recovery people not to bother with a mechanic, just bring a truck ?

Ive tried that before and they still send a mechanic as they don't believe it cant be fixed roadside.

Hope the bill invoice is only for the external parts.

I phoned Carole Nash recovery expecting all the rigmarole about sending a mechanic etc.
To be fair they didn't argue at all, once I explained, just sent a recovery truck.

Duffys and I assume there was a warranty I must say it was handled very well by them JJH
