How not to drain your oil

On my way to work yesterday. Hit what looks to be part of a lorry brake drum.Went straight through the bottom of the motor.
Gutted I really like this bike.

Ah well If it was a brake drum you should find the culprit nearby and the lorry not far away

I have come across a couple of Lorry brake pads on the road pretty much a serious reason to stay with Drums

They may go over the cam but at least you know about it!!!!

Did you tell the recovery people not to bother with a mechanic, just bring a truck ?

Ive tried that before and they still send a mechanic as they don't believe it cant be fixed roadside.

Hope the bill invoice is only for the external parts.

I phoned Carole Nash recovery expecting all the rigmarole about sending a mechanic etc.
To be fair they didn't argue at all, once I explained, just sent a recovery truck.

Did they fit a short motor to yours or relace the crankcases ?

I was proud of that bike, I fitted the crash bars because I always drop them, generally when stationary, but I managed to keep that one upright.

As long as your ok the bike will fix (at a cost Unfortunatly)
