How quickly does your battery go flat if you dont use the bike? 3 days?

I have a '19 r125gs and the bike wont start after 3 days from a full charge with a new battery. The bike powers up but wont crank, just reboots the LCD. I have disconnected the tracker. Is this 'normal' behaviour for the r125gs? My old R12gs always started even after a month (with a good battery). If I put a jump pack on it starts first time.

My 2013 GSLC would go 2-3 months and still start just fine. No alarm fitted.
Original battery as well. 7+ years old when I sold the bike.

thats what i would expect, not a few days

my bike does have an alarm but this test is without enabling it; the dealer told me that the alarm has it own battery and doesnt drain the bikes battery....

If you read your handbook

7- 10 days with alarm, after which the alarm is disabled to keep core functions enabled

after 2 weeks ha , your fooked

3 days sounds a bit short for it to not have power to start??. How long have you had the bike and how old is the battery? Has the bike always had problems after 3 days?.
My 2018 1250gs is still on its original battery and I have left it for a week or slightly longer (without Battery conditioner plugged in) and it starts OK. I usually do put it on the Oprimate (equivalient) when it's stood in the garage for any length of time. Measure the voltage drop over time (just using the tft voltage display) or a multimeter?. Or better still measure for any battery drain when it's stood. If there is more than a few milliamps after dsiconnecting the tracker your battery might be suspect??.

Bike is new to me, a month. It has alway done this for me. Now it has a new lithium battery. The SLA battery it came with had the same problem, the dealer tested the original battery and said the battery was ok. I don't think it is the battery tbh. I measured the lithium battery voltage over time. Full charge day 0 = 13.4v, day 1 = 13.2v, day 2 = 13v, day 3 = 12.8v wont start. Anything under 13v for a lithium is a discharged state. I'll measure the amps draw whilst turned off later today and get back.

You don’t have a usb plug left in do you? I assumed if it wasn’t connected to anything it wouldn’t drain the battery, but apparently it ‘confuses’ the canbus. Mine would be Flat after 3 days.

Agreed - there is parasitic drain from something. What after-market electronic accessories, aside from the tracker, have been fitted?

I haven't had anything to do with Lithium batteries on bikes so probably can't help. But just a thought; if anything under 13v is discharged could it be a problem for the bikes charging system to know when the lithium battery is fully charged & so it's not charging it fully??. Also if you leave the lihium battery off the bike (or disconnected) for 3 days does the voltage on it still drop below 13v ??. Might be worth trying.??

I used to have a bike with a lithium battery. It behaved oddly. The battery sometimes had to be “warmed up” by switching the bike on with the lights on. After a minute or two it would fire the bike. This mostly occurred on cold mornings.

A lithium battery is great for cranking amps (CCA) but dreadful with any sort of drain such as alarms, trackers etc. I have no alarm and am waiting for mine to be a year old before I remove the tracker and fit a lithium battery.
Even if you plug something into a USB port, it will never use much power.

" am waiting for mine to be a year old before I remove the tracker and fit a lithium battery".
Just curious , but what difference does it make removing the tracker when it's a year old?. Is that for insurance reasons or something.?

My new XR is fitted with the factory tracker, I'm told by the dealer that it has be been connected to a battery conditioner if left for more than 3 to 5 days......so it may just be down to that if fitted......

It came new with the tracker that I did not ask for. It also came with a years free subscription for that tracker. I have no need for it, nor do I want it drawing current at any time.

My 2014 started after about 10 weeks (due to lockdown), still on the original battery. No alarm.

How do I tell what kind of battery my bike has - lithium or normal? Is it obvious with the battery itself in situ? (2021 1250GS)

A lithium will have it written on, it will also be half the height - they come with plastic spacers that you clip on the bottom to give it the same height as the original.

Not normal. Mine would go for weeks and then possibly crank slowly, never failing to start.

Fitted with tracker and alarm.

AGM battery fitted.

It would be unusual if that were the case. The internal batts on alarms generally do not run the alarm in normal use. They are there as a backup for the siren should a thief disable the bikes battery whilst stealing it. Alarms normally run 100% from the bike batt in every other circumstance. Otherwise if the bike was laid up for any time the tiny internal batt in the alarm would get used up and render the alarm useless.

But you have AGM and the OP has lithium, two very different batteries.
