Hi, folks, I put a deposit down on an 800gs and was given a delivery date of 29/9/08, How accurate are these dates?

And what makes matters worse I have just sold my current bike (XT 600) so now I am riding around in a horrible little Saxo.

Also, everywhere I go all I see is people on their GSs including a yellow 800 in Newcastle the other day...

Delivery dates

Kind of promising results I suppose, I guess I will just have to be patient.

Here in australia they will not say a word. Looks like the end of october, but they will not confirm anything. Keep in mind that is 6ish weeks away.

Usually pretty good but let's hope for your sake they get it right this time - a Saxo??? :blast

Saxo

Having recently sold a perfectly good vW passat 2.8 Gas Guzzler at a stupid price thanks to Vatman and Dobbin (Darling and Brown) I was given my eldest sons cast off, the Saxo, I shouldnt complain. Its cheap on fuel and tax. Hopefully the BMW will arrive on time or sooner to end my misery.

shipping

The bikes are manufactured in Berlin so only need to come accross the water to the UK, hence depending upon what ship they get on, the delivery dates are usually pretty accurate to a few days or so.

Shipping to OZ is a different matter I would suspect, hence you did not get any info there, probably may be harder to calculate?? Then i guess you have to hope that they don't end up on a beach in Devon like those ones for South Africa did last year :augie

That delays thing indefinitely for those poor bikes

Hope yours arrives early though

Delivery dates..

Chuffed :) :)
The bike arrived 2 x days erlier than due, Dealer (Coopers Boldon) were superb, made my 1st BMW buying experience a very pleasant one.

The bike is tremendous, I managed to fit the universal Scottoiler which required a few mods.

All I have to do now is ride round with a big cheesy grin..:D

Congrats on getting the new bike.
How easy was it to fit the scottoiler? - I have one that I would like to fit.
Do you have any pictures of where you put it etc.
thanks

I had the universal Scottoiler from my previous bike which was not universal enough to fit the BM, however I only had to modify the vacuum pipe adapter slightly and alter one of the brackets supplied to mount the unit. In respect of the pipework to the oil feed, I find the supplied plastic pipe and glue on guides a bit weak for my liking, I utilise copper brake pipe and home made copper P-clips to fix the delivery pipe to the swing arm. this gives a far more reliable and directable delivery pipe. I dont have any photos but I will take some and post them later today.

I must be a big kid, It did feel like Crimbo when I was a kid. Did 350 miles yesterday, Newcastle upon Tyne to sunny Airdrie and back, the scenic route, Grinnin like a Cheshire cat all the way. Marvelous!
