Just bought a second hand topbox off the forum for my RT and it slides all over the place when it is fixed to the rack. Can anyone with a RT topbox say how secure the box is on their own RT rack? It looks to me like some rubber stops are missing on the forward facing hooks on the box I have bought.

There are rubber pads at the front mount points and the box will wobble if they are missing.

Thank's Peter, I am guessing the rubber pads should be on the vertical face inside the hooks where it presses against the rack to stop sliding forward?

Mine is very stable :thumb2. Will take a picture of the underside if that would help?

The rubber buffers are glued to the two arms on the top box that slide into the receiving slots on the mount frame.

I had two 1200RTs and the topbox was absolutely rock solid when in place - there should be no play at all.

Mines also quite loose, worse than the hire bike I had in the USA in June. I've always wondered if there were some rubber buffers missing :nenau

There are. The rubber stops fall off when they get old. The give away is the loose top box.
Your local dealer will be able to get you some for a few pounds.
