US aftermarket parts-supplier Andrew Serbinski loves the ride but hates the look of his R1200GS so much he’s completely redesigned it. And in developing the new bodywork he's pioneering a new way of producing parts in a process he likens to simply 'printing them out'.

The R1200GSM reduces the parts-count and 'visual clutter' of the popular adventure bike, which Serbinsky feels betrays the actual feel of riding the bike. "These bikes offer a promise of being able to go from the tip of Scotland to end of Africa, but few people actually do it. It rides like a big sports bike with a great view so we set out to make it look that way."

Oh yeah...!

I like what he has done. If it was a toss up between that or a KTM, I'd still have his version but to be honest I like my GS just the way it is.....

To me he should've gone the whole hog and shod it in the 17" wheel conversion too, then it would look like a proper Super-retard.....

( I so used to love Supermotos when they 1st came out, now they are just passe! )

Find it pretty pointless really, I'd like these bikes to get more "off road" styling, not less... and I would certainly disagree when he says the GS rides like a big sportsbike, what kind of "sportsbikes" has he ridden? :rob

Not sure I see the point of this - the GS/GSA is what it is.

Surely if people wanted this style they would get the Megamoto

Should look like that? Thank god it doesnt, i think it looks pure awful...:ymca

If I wanted different styling i go for a RSV-R or ZXR - but my GSA is perfect as it is...

I like the styling of the tank and rear, better than the mishmash the 1200 ended up as.

Leave the screen and the beak on but go with the tank and rear conversion and it wouldn't be a bad looking bike :)

As a pure styling exercise I like it. It's a massive improvement on the 1200GS visually.

It's not a GS anymore. It would suit many of those weekend-only riders who buy GS's because of the dynamics on road (and that's who it seems to be aimed at).

looks like the rockster - ugliest BMW for a generation...

Should be pretty difficult to make a stock GS look uglier that it is by birth, but this American dude has clearly managed it.

US aftermarket parts-supplier Andrew Serbinski loves the ride but hates the look of his R1200GS so much he’s completely lost it and designed a pile of sh1te.

When the F800R specials [1] were being knocked out a year or so ago, they made sense and looked good, so good that BMW launched their own.

I think that we can wind this thread up by summarising that most comments are negative. Each to their own of course and customising can have some good results, but the question has to be, why change a 1200GS back to something that looks like a R1200R, only not as quite as nice as and costing a load more money! Opinion is subjective of course and I'm sure the owner is chuffed with it. I just hope he is not too upset with the comments it has attracted if he reads this! We are all different after all!:comfort
