It’s not a BOAT and never has been
It’s a UCR and yes it is open

So, UCR, or BOAT; is there any difference? The last time I looked at the OS map for Rudland it had BOAT symbols ( -+-+-+-+-+ ) but that was a few years ago, maybe seven or more… Now it’s just dots

Anyhow, I rode a mile along it for the view today. Absolutely fabulous.

BOAT or UCR?
No difference in reality from a user’s point of view, both carry vehicular ROW
Main difference is the way they are classified by Councils and who pays for maintenance (department wise, either Highways or Rights of Way) and also the instruments that can be used to downgrade them
