Hi,
I am having trouble getting Vista to open .xls files using Excel. At the moment when I click on the .xls file it tries to open powerpoint.
I have been into the Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set Associations tool and when I "browse" for an application and click on excel.exe nothing happens and Excel does not appear as an icon in the list of programs to choose from.
I have done some research on the net and it seems to be a recognised bug but have been unable to find an answer. At the moment the only way round the problem is to launch Excel and then open the file which works.
Does anyone have a fix I could try?
Thanks
Garry
