how to break your tyre bead at home ?

3 arms and 3 legs....must be something they put in the water in oxford... :)

i think i'll stick to the pajero option thanks :thumb

theres a joke in there somewhere about a third leg and a babies arm - but best not mention it, eh ? :D

Just got a real sense of satisfaction (& a teeny bit of backache...) from changing the tyres on my CRM250. Tyre levers out, tyre off, tube out, replace in reverse order... Interesting to find that a nail I picked up about 3yrs ago had punctured the tube, but the tyre never went down & barely lost any air between checks. I assumed that it had not gone into the tube. Taking it all apart, I found horrible green goo (ultraseal anyone...?) which made it really difficult to get the air out of the tubes & to get them out of the tyre. Looks like it did its job, though.

It works

A chap at work gave me the tip of using a spade to break the bead on a tubeless tyre. It is so simple and easy that it is unreal. Push the curve of the spade right up to the wheel rim and apply downward pressure with both feet.
Bang Job done.
