Seems simple enough - but when i have the wheel off all i see is an apparently immovable metal dish. :confused:
I've heard they seize on, but dont want to reach for the hammer and chisel....
... yet.
Searched online hoping to find some good pics and info. Generalised info is out there, but without model specific pics - i'm wary of starting the job, and pics would be most help.
Anyone done the job AND got pics?
Or the ph number of a good therapist. :blast
TIA,
~~~
Thor :D
Thanks Civil,
I'm just about to strip my wheels down for powder coating.
Is that shiny wheel on the right powder coated or painted?
I never understood why that big circlip is fitted, I did ask on the Guzzi site, but their take was that Tonti was a great engineer, so anything he designed was above questioning!
Civil,
Thanks for the reply and pics. :thumb2
I'll be servicing the beast soon and just thought maybe now was the time to look again at softening my rear end. :eek:
I've heard it's possible to improve the 'cushion' by removing the (rock hard) rubbers and simply drilling holes in them.
If you can get at them that is. :D
Apart from any other reason - i've had the bugger 15 years and never got to look in there - and i'm curious. :)
the wheel is sprayed with an acrylic wheel paint ,, as found on big bright shiney buses , the length and breadth
of the country . I think its more durable than powder coat . Nice finish and easy cleaned .
Got to have those shiny wheels on Buses :thumb2
Thanks. I'll give it a go.
Did you blast them first?
Og, try the wintergreen diluted in water and boiling them, It's meant to soften carb / airbox rubbers.
