How to cure a "Snatchy throttle"

Dear all.

I've had my beloved 09 plated F800 GS for a year and had many a happy hour riding to various UK and Euro land locations.

BUT!!! I'm getting really hacked of by the growth of the Snatchy Throttle issues that the 800 suffer, despite just having a 6k service.

Has anyone got an sensible tips to cure or off set this problem, as my whole riding experience is becoming tainted.

Has it become snatchy or has it always been? i had a KTM 990SM which was dreadfull . Tried a throttle Cam ,but made minimal difference ,get your dealer to do the lastest Map downloads on the EFI .The GS800 I tried had no such issue

On my 650 GS the throttle is also snatchy mainly on decelleration My wife comments that when I roll off the throttle its a bit like braking. I put this down to a small flywheel, if there is a mapping revision I would like to see it

Powercommander,with a custom map set up on the dyno,worked for my 990KTM.........

The two things that seem to reduce it on mine were the aftermarket exhaust. Since putting the stock back on its a bit snappy again especially when letting off the gas. I also find my cramp buster allows my hand to increase and decrease the power with just a gentle pressure from the palm of my hand instead of having to grip the throttle.

The other comments above I'm sure would also add to these improvements. BMW off road schools acknowledged the snappyness on the 800. "Revvy" as Nick Plumb said. yet they still use the 800

Off road the throttle can be a bit of a pain but as 'ace supreme' said, slipping the clutch can sort it to some degree but it is certainly far from perfect. Seems fine on road IMHO.

I have the same problem on my 650,shuting the throtle off is like squeezing the brake,never had that problem on other bikes.

I'm getting confused, must be an age thing. But in my world, there is a difference between 'throttle snatch' and 'engine braking'. What is it that you're experiencing?

Singles have more engine braking than Twins, and Twins have more engine braking than fours. Not something that BMW can be blamed for.

The throttle on my 800 is no more snatchy than my old 650GS, and certainly not a patch on my old Duke. I'm not even sure that the twistgrip is directly connected to the fuel injection, so maybe you haven't got the latest software.

The throttle on my F800 has been very snatchy...it suddenly bogs almost to a stand still. It had made me wary of this...but i rode it today for the first time in 6 months and it did not happen, i don't know whats happened different today, but i was one happy girl when i got home

Maybe it doesnt want you to trade it for a 1200
