I'm using Basecamp to plan routes for a bike trip. The routes are a GPX file which I transfer to my Nav 6, all works fine.
My biker mate who is joining me on the trip has the new BMW Motorrad 7" OLED Sat nav,, (Carplay & Android Auto) and would like to put the same GPX routes on his new Sat nav.
My Question is....How can a GPX file be put on and used on his new Sat nav?

======

I have edited the title.

As the device seems to be some sort of Chinese origin ‘mirroring’ thing, I’ve moved the thread to where (I hope) is its correct home.

If it's a CarPlay or Android Auto unit he can just send the file to the Nav app he uses on his phone.

Is this one of the units available on Ebay? Branded as BMW OLED with the BMW boot screen? These units are not like the Nav5/6 etc. they are not really nav units, more mirroring devices. If you share the .gpx with him he can the import it into the app he uses for Sat Nav.

If you are referring to him having the proprietary BMW ConnectedRide Nav unit, it's a different thing, not strictly CarPlay/AA.

I believe his device is off ebay (£150), BMW Motorrad 7" OLED Sat nav Navigator CarPlay & Android Auto touch screen.
He can't get on with his Nav 6, so he's got this as a stand alone GPS on his 2024 R1250RT mounted above the TFT screen.
His mobile is an iPhone.

In that case, it's as I said above. The sat nav is on his phone. So you can just send the .gpx and he can open them in the nav app he uses. It's not the device that runs the nav, it only mirrors the phone, sort of.

If it is a dumb CP AA screen then we would need to know what navigation app he is running/intends to run on his iPhone. OOps posted at the same time:D

BTW, The device he has I not an official BMW Motorrad device, think it's just someone in Bradford that's selling what seems to be a Chinese device using the official BMW boot screen.

This thing might well match the description:

If so…..

Load a suitable app (ie one capable of running an GPX fine) onto your chum’s iPhone. If you / he are lucky, the device thing (when connected to the phone) will simply mirror what the phone is doing.

For running GPX files on your iPhone, top apps include
Komoot, Outdooractive, Gaia GPS, RideWithGPS, and Scenic, which let you import routes for hiking, biking, or running, often with features like offline maps, elevation profiles, and turn-by-turn navigation for activities like hiking, cycling, and motorcycling, with options ranging from free basic use to premium subscriptions for advanced tools.

He’ll probably need to power the device thing and his phone, too. But that’s a whole different ball game.
