I've got to refit the rubber gaitor into the sliding part of the caliper.
(the sliding pins fit into this) How the hell do I do this? Each time I try to push one bit in, the other side pops out. It almost appears to be oversize.

This is on a Yamaha 900 Diversion.

Is the gaiter new , if its a used one it may have been contaminated with oil , wd40 or grease and then they are just about impossible to refit as they stretch. Have had the same problem in the past with a few Suzuki's, also check for a build up of corrosion within the caliper body where the rubber fits as it will expand the gaiter enough to stop the pin fitting.

I think I'll try various sizes of drills fitted in the bore of the sliding pin. Choose one that is not much smaller than the I/D of the gaitor, and see if I can stuff the gaitor back in.
