Hi, IAfter filling up my 2002 1150gs I put the bike on the side stand to get on and found it was leaning A LOT. The side stand has bent about 1-2” from the top. The stand wouldn’t come up so I jury rigged it with cable ties to do the last 50km of.My trip. We’re trying to remove the side stand to see if it can be straightened and reinforced with a splint so that I can ride it back to Grenoble. I’ve searched everywhere but I can’t find instructions on how to do it so that we can decide whether it’s doable.

Can anyone point me in to a workshop manual or something similar?

Parity much self explanatory. You will need a Torx bit to undo the main screw. A bit of heat may also help to loosen the thread lock.IMG_0537.jpegIMG_0538.jpeg

To remove your springs it is easier if you use coins or metal washers to place in between the spring coils to stretch it.
Leave the springs fully stretched so that you can refit them easily.
