I'm not asking the pros and cons of each as I've read other post. :augie

My question is, are there any visual signs to tell which box (standard or enduro) is fitted to the bike?

No. Your local dealer can tell you from the VIN/frame number.

Interesting....I ordered a 2010 Gsa with the Enduro box...

....and had wondered if I'd actually got one, cos there seemed very little difference from the demo bike.

I'm sure it is....but I'd be interested to check if I knew what to look for.

No old man
just the reg number or vin

And there is a noticeable difference E box just jugs along standard tends to run a bit !! :)

If you really want to know you could try try it for yourself; you can count the engine/rear wheel revolutions in first gear by removing the plugs and turning the engine over with a spanner.

The following are from the 2010 Adventure handbook

Gearbox transmission ratios:

without Enduro gearboxOE 2.375 (38:16 teeth), 1st gear
with Enduro gearboxOE 2.600 (39:15 teeth), 1st gear

Don't forget to involve the final drive ratio in your sums 2.910 (32:11 teeth)

I couldn't be arsed and trusted that I got the bike I ordered.

or

Start the bike, don't give it any throttle and let the clutch out. Normal box stalls, Enduro box pulls away.

I wanted the Enduro gearbox on my 2010 Adventure but I would have had to wait until September for delivery so, after atest ride I got one with the standard 'box. 1st gear is exactly the same as my 1150 Adventure that does have the Enduro gearbox :thumb
