How to use clutch for swift take off on 1150GS?

The good thing about the 1150 is that it will move off with no throttle if you feed the clutch gently and this soon teaches you were the "grab point" is. Once you know that just use more throttle and a faster clutch release until you are getting starts as fast as you want or the bike flips over backwards. Maybe cover the back brake to reduce the risk of the latter:)

I generally used to try and get the clutch fully released before using much power, a little slower off the line initially but it rarely mattered and the original clutch was still great at 96,000 miles.
