I've recently bought a used set of GSA spot lights and want to fit them to my 2008 R1200GS. The picture shows the plug that is supposed to connect to the existing harness on the bike.
So I have 3 questions.
1) Is there a suitable socket on my bike for this plug?
2) Where is it?
3) If it's not going to be a simple plug in option how do I go about connecting them?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I think you might have a wee problem in terms of when you buy the BMW spotlights for the GS, you require additionally to get a software update on the bike, price for this varies from dealer to dealer.
IMHO the simplest way to wire these would be direct to your battery via a straightforward switch with a on/off indicator.

lights fitting

:blagblah I am no expert but my mate fitted same lights on a gs and he had to remove side panels, tank to get to the ecu where that plug slots in. He is no electrician but capable and he said it was not too difficult. In fact he's done it on two gs's. Also, he did not have to have the bikes reprogrammed at the dealer, the lights just worked. I don't know what you have in your kit but he had the kit from bmw which included a unit which fitted in to the existing left switches on handlebars.:friday

Best to get details of donor bike they came from i.e age then contact local BMW dealer to check if your bikes compatible, you'll also need a relay to plug into the ECU under the fuel tank and then get your ECU updated as Pablo said .
Recently added L.E.D spots to my GS ,but the plug in your picture wasn't on the loom I fitted ?? ,also you have to strip the bike down i.e remove beak, fueltank so make sure you haven't got a full tank before starting as you need to get to the ECU.
Full diagrams are available from dealers ,good luck unless someone knows different :nenau :thumb

Thanks for all of the information. I have the full BMW kit including the BMW switch so I'll strip it down this weekend and take a look. If the worst comes to the worst I'll wire them up through an after-market relay. Wish me luck!

you dont need to update the ecu it will just work if you have bm parts.
