Hi trucjer2, what model GS do you own?

hi it is a r1150gs 200 plate with ads and more info i will have to look at the log book

It depends

On what GS you're fitting them to and how you want them to work, i.e. On and off with high beam or switched manually. Best light upgrade is go for an HID dip beam. You could do worse than speak to Tunneruk on this site or visit his site

yes i can get into that forum :thumb// the spot lights i picked up are led spot for dip beam on hi beam the lights are ok it is just the dip where you need to white sticks as i have just found out it is a r1150gs oil head thanks for the help

OK as an interim let me shoot your thread over for you then you can read the responses, you should be able to post in there. I'll find out why you cant soon enough, just follow the redirect that I leave here.

Now that's something to do with your settings at your end. Instead of using my link scroll down the forum and access it that way.

I think with LED's you can take a feed from the existing live going to the dip beam.

And Duchess its nice to see someone new to the forum being treated in a manner which might encourage them to become a member :thumb2

thanks for that .. i will b a member soon as all my funds are taken at the min trying to sort the probs i have with this gs ... i am thinking i made a big mistake part x my blackbird but only time will tell :thumb

My suggestions for improving your night vision can be applied in steps.

Step 1 - Install HIDs on the low beam - 35w and 4300°K is my preference
Step 2 - Install HIDs on the high beam (will work fine unless you like flicking your high beams all the time) - 35w and 4300°K is my preference
Step 3 - Install HIDs in auxiliary projectors. - Any wattage and 4300°K will do

4300°K is the bulb's chromatic temp. 4300°K is the closest to daylight colour you can get and the one that will get you the most Lumens. The popular 6000°K is bluish and offers less Lumens. Leave it to Honda Civic drivers.

The first two steps are pretty easy and involve no relay. Simply ziptie the ballasts under the fuel tank on each side of the steering column.
The third step is a bit more involved and will require a fused relay connected directly on the battery and an on/off switch located on the left handlebar, getting a 12v signal from a switched accessory.

The auxiliary projectors pictured above have an integrated ballast. So, install is even easier. Just connect your 12v. No need to find room for external ballasts. Price is under $100.00 a pair and they are basically Chinese copies of the Hellas.

hi thank you for that info i will b in touch tunneruk as i will need my trailer light wiring up as well at the same time i will pop over for the day and have a cuppa or 2
