Having ordered one I feel I make have dropped a big one.... its a small alleyway to get the bike to my house. How wide is the GS at its widest point? Please help, this could be an expensive mistake!!

How wide is the GS at its widest point?

77cm will get your engine through
83cm will get both rear boxes through
90cm will get your bars through

But you had better add a wobble factor margin :(

Hope this gives you some idea :D

Change the house NOT the bike ;)

Would you ride it up the allyway or walk up with it?

Will there be enough space with you walking alongside the bike?

Do you have the option of parking elsewhere nearby?

when i was waiting for mine was talking to an owner who had removed the hand guards & bar ends when asked why it was to go down the entrey in an old terraced house so @ worst tou will have to do above:rolleyes:

Cheers for the help.... 89.3cm is the width i've got, after the first 12cm its 115cm wide, so if I angle the bars on the way in i'll be fine! I'll just have to be careful!! or just get a set of renthal's fitted as I know they fit though. Thanks again. Roll on 27th july!!!:D

Aha- Countersteering! :D

counter steering!... exactly...

as you approach the entrance to the alleyway, just spin up the rear tire on the throttle and step the back out, counter steer with the handlebars to get them at an angle and then just ride the slide through the alley... couldn't be easier really... :D
:beerjug:

Nah.....hoist a minger just before the alleyway, then angle the bars as required. Then simply land it when you're through the alley:D
