Howdy people !!

Just picked up my 1st GS this week and I must say I'm impressed. It's a 2001 1150 and I part exed my Suzuki Vstrom for it after riding the Strom to Portugal this summer and spending all the return journey praying it would get me back to Bouloigne.
I Found this place via ADVrider and it looks like theres a good bunch o nutters on the forum so I should fit right in !!

The GS is a bit "Clunky" on the downshift but have been told it's normal for the motor so no need to worry.

Looking forward to some good times on here :thumb

Yes, after a Suzuki gearbox, you may find the 1160GS box a tad agricultural.

However, it's possible to clutchless gearchanges both up and down the box with some care.

But on the other hand, a GS doesn't lose 50% of its value in year one like the VStrom.

If you were lucky, you'll have managed to buy one of the extraordinarily classy blue & white bikes.

Yo maddave.....happy new bike and welcome aboard.... :thumb :thumb

Welcome Dave:), that's how mine looked when I bought it in January of this year. You're very likey to find tons of add on's and a large hole in your wallet within a fairly short space of time BUT they're brilliant to own and ride, have fun mate.:thumb

dont think i have ever seen one that clean, are you sure its real?

If you ever see bmwlee s bike - he works for Williams, then you will see clean. As far as I know it is the only vehicle allowed to park in the corner of the room where they make computer components, everyone else has to white sterile outer garments!
Seriously the guy has some huge cotton bud type things that he cleans in between the cylinder fins on his bike with - there goes one seriously disturbed :ymca sorry I meant :censor: :censor:
