Will it print good quality A4 photographs for portraits with the use of a 4.1 million pixel camera or am i pushing it?

OK , put it another way what is the max you can blow up a photo to with a 4.1 digi without loosing quality.

You should be able to do A3 without much of a problem. The quality thing is very much subjective.
Just to throw a spanner in there, have you not though about getting them done by a developer? I use photobox.co.uk and they are very good and probably as cheap as printing your own, but higher quality.
How many prints can you get done for the cost of printer/paper/inks etc etc
Also the times when you print one and it goes wrong so you have to do another.

I'd suggest you go a Google search on something like...
Megapixel printing
You'll get plenty of hits and many of them show a matrix of camera resolution versus printing... they tend to give an acceptable and high quality figure.
Better to do the search yourself rather than me just give you a load of links.
