Ok here's the deal, i have had my sauce for two years and most of it has been off road, great bike ....love it, but i have decided to get full bore into rallye riding here in Oz (and it will not be on the Hp2 ) with a view to doing more adventurous rides next year overseas. I was going to swap the sauce into mottard trim but have been offered a great deal on a Megamoto against the enduro. has anybody swapped the enduro for the mega and if so any regrets, are you mega riders happy with your choice??.....ah decisions , decisions;)

I was a prime candidate for a Megamoto, but no dealer local had one, BMW did not bring it to the Bike Show and any dealer I speak to cabnnot understand why I will not accept £not vey much as a PX.

I love the bike but cannot abide the dealers taking the mickey!

I had 17" wheels put onto my 06 GS as i have NOOOO interest in Off Roading.I fancied the Megamoto when it was announced, drooled at the pics, pored over every detail on the NEC Show Stand.I looked at a Trade this time in 07 but could not justify the £6k to change a 12 Month old Bike.In August 07 the BMWGB Press Bikes got made available as Demonstrators and i took one out the day after finishing an 8 week ban.I was blown away with it as a Road Bike but felt that its' focus compromised it against the All-Round capabilities of the GS. I tried a KTM 950 SM with a view to keeping the GS as a Long Haul Road Bike and trading my 640 SM in but felt the 950 was a liability, excellent Performance but SUCH a temptation to ride like a Tw%t .I was looking to upgrade my GS with Ohlins or Wilbers when i got a really good offer on a New MegaMoto (BETTER than the price offered 12 Months prior).

Bottom Line, , , , ,I've ordered the MegaMoto :thumb:thumb:thumb

I have had road wheels on my cooking version HP2 from day one as I prefer the SM type bikes and it is great for all I need, not sure the Megamoto could offer more (for me at least) even though it is a far more focused road bike.

EDIT 2500 posts tonight - must get out more....

I'm very happy with my choice.

Finally got my MM on the track at Buttonwillow in CA. Favorite attributes were the stomping braking power and the HUGE torque coming out of turns.

I never owned an HP2 Enduro but I rode one. The biggest differences will be in the stiffer front end on the MM and a little less ride height due to the Ohlins vs the air shock.

If you're doing street it's a better choice.

Thanks for the comments guys, i think th MM is the way to go, luckily down here the enduro holds its value really well and swapping to the MM will allow me to still throw in a trackday a month.

I got HP2 enduro with Street Moto Set, i really have fun with it, although, i always like to think about Megamoto/HP2 enduro differences:

R1200S engine, 8 more HP at 7500rpm (500rpm higher) , Compression ratio 12,0:1 / 11,0:1, 115nm torque at 6000rpm (500rpm higher), Rims, 180 rear tire, shorter travel fork 160mm, shorter travel rear ohlins 160mm, double 320 front disks, double four piston calipers, low front fender, cockpit and lights.

looks like gear ratio is the same on both bikes? i cannot find contradictory inf about it.....common gear ratio is then:
  • 1st Gear Ratio 2.28:1
  • 2nd Gear Ratio 1.58:1
  • 3rd Gear Ratio 1.26:1
  • 4th Gear Ratio 1.03:1
  • 5th Gear Ratio 0.90:1
  • 6th Gear Ratio 0.81:1
  • Final Drive System Enclosed driveshaft with two universal joints
  • Final Drive Ratio 2.82:1
