As I said, I'd be interested to hear how you get on with doing this. I'd always understood that getting a bike which was imported from Europe to comply with US DOT requirements meant that it wasn't cost effective.
If it works for you, that'll be great and I'd like to know just what parts you have to change or add to get the bike plated in Nevada.
To Difficult. JUst got back from the States. I brought another HP2 from Max BMW in NY state. The silly thing is, I can bring my Thai registered HP2 in to the USA as it has US conforming stamp on the frame....

Hi Ian, I've got a totally mint standard HP2 with 350 Miles on the clock, I was going to use that one, but I think I'll moth ball that one, as it is totally like new and they are getting pretty damned rare to find like that now. I found one as I said in New York which has a few mikles on it but it is pretty sorted, so the one I got of ebay I'll be using as my main hack in Europe/Africa. From what I can see from the pictures abd from what my brother tells me, she is a damned fine machin. Can't wait till June when I get over and find out for me'self!
