Just a quick line to say that my 6-page story about competing in the Thundersprint on my HP2 is in the June ish of TrailBike & Enduro magazine aka TBM, just out. FWIW I came second in the Motorcycle Personalities class, beaten only by Chris Walker on the new Norton.

It is a good read Paul, and was good chewing the fat with you about the HP2 while you were trying to put it in the van - will we see you next year?

Blez in Thundersprint 2011?

Yup, should be there again in 2011, barring disasters.
Maybe on the HP2, maybe on something electric!

Well done Blez :clap

Next year a HP240 or a 110 ??? :D

Ive read a bit on the electric bike bits - They may be the future after all

Just read the article - well done :clap:clap

One thing tho - please tell me you didn't take the brake disc off the front wheel to fit it and it's just a misunderstanding from how you wrote it in the article?!

Disc Loosening to fit Supermoto Front wheel

Just read the article - well done :clap:clap

No, you read it right. You have to unbolt the disc on the supermoto wheel to get the caliper over it – there's not enough room between the disc and the rim otherwise.
Unless you have some magical way of shrinking the caliper to fit it?!

no you don't you take the brake pads out which takes seconds, loosen/ remove the calipers, that gives you enough space. Wheel in, then refit the pads them and fit caliper to the other bolt holes on the forks which does the rest.

well that's what I do....

I guess you can do it your way if you've got the horn for doing stuff in a wierd way.... after all it's a free country

PS well done....

Good one Blez just read that.
By the way I thought you may have got your forum name wrong, but having researched the grammatical subtleties I now believe the iconic Citroen may have been wrongly named

Blez,as it's you,i might buy the Mag for the Feature. I stopped subscibing after you left and stopped buying it altogether when Mr Melber disappeared up his own Back Passage.

Thundersprint on TV, Blez on HP2 might be featured

Hi all,
Highlights of the 2010 Thundersprint are being broadcast for the first time tonight on MotorsTV at 21.15 BST.
That's Channel 545 on Virgin, Channel 413 on Sky.
I may or may not feature coming second in class on the BMW HP2 1200 Enduro and if I do the bike may or may not be mis-described as a Mavizen TTX02 electric bike, since that's what I was originally supposed to be riding.
One person you can be sure of seeing is Chris Walker winning our 'Motorcycling Personalities' class in spectacular action on the new Norton, backing it in with the rear wheel spinning, as superbly captured by Amanda Wright in the final spread of my article for the June ish of TBM.
If you don't catch the prog tonight, it will doubtless be repeatedly repeated over the coming few weeks!

Pads out, not disc off.

I simply never thought of doing that!

I'll try doing it that way next time round and report back!

PS Just received a new stand from Busters which I hope will make wheel-swapping easier; it's only 3 months since I ordered it!
