HP2 Large tank available?

Interesting option

It's not the best looking tank but looks like you have done a fantastic job.

I'd like to learn more about this tank:

-Capacity and weight
-Do you have fuel pump?
-Is the tank in 1 peice or 2 separate tanks?
-How do you attach it to the frame?

Do you have more pictures?

HP2 Side Tanks

They are two tanks with balance hoses between them, they wedge into the frame at the bottom :) . A H/D spring helps hold the top front together and tight. The top rear is locked together with a stainless strap.
The fuel is pumped to the main tank through the fuel return in the main tank. :thumb

Very neat indeed that, top marks :clap

I was going to make mine sit a bit further back than that, and also, higher up! Do you have any problems with the tanks fouling your legs when riding at all? Also, what about when the inevitable happens and the bike gets dropped,if you hole one tank, will it drain all three?

There the best tanks Ive seen for a HP2 so far.
I also like the idea that they look like they can be removed (easily?)if you dont want the range. Good work

I like 'em - well done :thumb

What's their capacity ( they look around the 4 liter each mark? ) and are you making anymore?

BTW: your exhaust looks nice - what is it? ( Staintune hopefully as i've got one on order... just waiting for it to arrive in the UK )

Have you guys seen this?

Just saw it on Adventure Rider's web site.

The capacity of the side tanks are 9.6 Lt. all up.
I will be getting prices to get the tanks Roto Moulded after I get back from a trip that I will be doing in a couple of weeks.
The muffler I developed my self. It is short & low so I can fit throw over bags. :beerjug:

I think they look excellent - great job.

"some sort of L.R. tank was being developed in South Africa for reasonable money. "

Kaoko is the largest company I'm aware of that might take on that kind of project. They do lots of decent bike plastics.

Touratech tanks

Rumour has it that Touratech are making side tanks (possibly similar to these), apparently ready August 06. Apparently will hold 10 litres.

Slightly different subject but where is your screen from?
The screen is a modified 650 Dakar screen & the mounting system is my own design. It works well & is very strong. :thumb

EUR3,000 for a fuel tank? now that sounds like The Italian Job. Way way too expensive.
